The Prince of Wales Will Participate in UN Climate Conference in South America
Prince William is scheduled to attend the COP30 climate summit in Brazil next month, according to the royal household.
Prince William and King Charles made a joint appearance on Thursday evening at a event preceding the climate summit, which is set to be held in the Amazonian city of Belém.
The King and Prince were participating in the Natural History Museum reception, marking an unusual joint appearance at a pre-COP30 gathering organized in partnership with the UK government.
Climate Leadership Commitment
King Charles has been a longstanding advocate of environmental conservation - and Prince William has inherited the mission, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be taking place in South America preceding the climate conference.
Royal sources have portrayed William's involvement at the next COP as assuming an significant responsibility in "climate diplomacy".
Recent Engagements
The King and Prince of Wales, arriving together in the royal vehicle, were introduced to participants featuring environmentalists, researchers, climate change campaigners, diplomats and government officials.
This participation featured addresses alongside French leader Macron of the French Republic and other global statesmen at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in the Principality of Monaco in recent months.
Environmental Prize Connection
The COP30 summit will coincide with the prince's own climate innovation prizes, which will conclude in Rio de Janeiro the eve of he joins the climate conference on the sixth of November.

The monarch has been a key figure at previous climate summits, delivering the inaugural speech in Dubai for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the observation: "We are custodians of the planet, not its owners".
"Throughout my life I've dedicated a large proportion of my life trying to warn of the existential threats confronting humanity over planetary heating, global temperature increases and ecological decline," the sovereign addressed attendees.
