Skydance Paramount Set to Eliminate Around 2,000 US Jobs – Report

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to begin large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 American roles within a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn under CEO David Ellison.

The layoffs follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August with a value of $8.4bn.

Further international job cuts are expected, with Paramount Skydance aiming to announce all specifics in its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.

Previous updates had indicated the firm planned to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.

As of December 2024, Paramount retained almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 project-based staff.

Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond regarding the report.
